Meta tags are useful for keyword analysis by the spiders. You won’t need to submit to the major search engines for inclusion, you just need to start building incoming links.
As the spider crawls, they will find you through the other links.
It takes time before a site will show up on the search engines once you submit. And for example, if you have verified your site through Google Sitemaps then there shouldn’t be any problem. For more helpful info on SEO:
